The Barefoot Spa Orlando
A firmer, more concentrated technique that utilizes gradually increasing pressure to relieve tension and discomfort in recurrent problem areas. Deep Tissue may be used in both the therapeutic setting and for those who prefer a firmer relaxation massage.
We take a more “progressive” approach to this modality than the more commonly used Sports Massage technique. A multi-faceted approach involving myofascial/deep tissue techniques and stretching are used to warm muscles for pre-workout or heal stressed muscles for post-workout. “We enhance sports performance, prevent injuries, and eliminate existing and often long term physical problems.”
This is a highly therapeutic form of bodywork focused on eliminating constrictions within the body’s fascial system.Fascia is a connective tissue network that is found throughout the body. By using various types of fascial spreading techniques, restrictions and constriction in the fascial system can be “freed up”, and because fascia is a network, even superficial work can have a profound effect.
A multiphase system of Connective tissue massage based on the theories of Ida Rolf, CORE Structural Integration sessions promote alignment, balance and integration of the human structure. Each session focuses on different areas of the body, and addresses superficial and deep layers, as well as integration of the whole fascia network.

After tissue is warmed, firm pressure is used on specific points, or “trigger points” in connective tissue and muscle to reduce spasms and sensitivity, relieve tension and increase circulation to problem areas. This technique is generally considered a “rehab” technique, and may be too intense for general relaxation.
Using light touch, the therapist monitors the flow of the cerebrospinal fluid within the craniosacral system to determine where restrictions are located.
The technique encourages optimal fluid movement, which in turn, causes a self-correcting response within the entire body.

Like we said, it’s good to be the Queen!
As perfect for a hot August day as a tall cold iced coffee! And that’s where we start… a cool foot soak in peppermint and coffee bean (stay with us, it’s not as crazy as it sounds…) We then wrap the lower leg and feet in a rich cocoa and menthol mud mask – think “peppermint pattie” for the feet. We finish with a cocoa/coffee bean/ shea butter formula massaged into the leg and feet. After this, you could walk the theme parks – all the theme parks! – all over again…..
This is very similar to the “Iced Peppermint Pattie” but without the menthol and mint….
Start with a cocoa and coffee bean foot soak, and then choose between either an exfoliation or mud wrap of the feet and lower legs, each utilizing a rich cocoa component. We end with a massage, using shea butter blended with cocoa. Yes, we will have edible chocolate handy, should you choose to partake in this treatment!
Yes, we know there are times here in Central Florida when it may be necessary to wear socks – heavy socks. This treatment will help if you’re experiencing “cold feet”. We begin with a comfortably warm foot soak using specialized “warming” herbs, and then move (quickly) to an insulated mud wrap of the lower leg and feet.
We complete this treatment with a special massage of the feet and legs, using a long proven home remedy, courtesy of Heather’s Lithuanian Grandma, to keep your tootsies toasty.
We begin with your choice of either mud treatment or exfoliation, tailored to your skin type. This is followed by a massage with a customized shea butter formula, specifically designed to seal in moisture after spa treatments. We complete the experience with a full facial, again designed to accommodate the client’s skincare needs. We accessorize this three hour journey with a glass of wine (Italian, of course!). You may want to arrange to get a ride home after this!
When only a crowd will do…We would love to help you plan and coordinate your next party, meeting, group gathering with us here at “The Living Room” of The Barefoot Spa! We are a setting like no other, and consider it a privilege to host your get together!
